Currently, a third of the world’s agricultural land is infertile. Global food security is under serious threat, and the need to preserve the environment and mitigate climate change is vital.

In light of this, the demand for sustainable agricultural solutions is understandably relevant – and to cut a long story short, it’s not going away anytime soon.

Enter NLight, and with them: a glimmer of hope (at least).

Their arrival on the market is not revolutionary in itself. In fact, they are appearing in a landscape already dominated by true industry giants. The balance of power is skewed, and it’s likely that small fry like NLight will lose out. Not that that will stop them.

Their entry, however, is disruptive. In fact, their new arrival can be characterised by their determination to push the boundaries and their unwavering determination to nurture a future where technology and horticulture come together to feed the world sustainably.

Their RV1000 isn’t the first LED grow light to take the horticultural and floriculture scene by storm, but there are numerous ways in which this light outperforms existing lamps.

The RV1000 combines innovation, sustainability, quality and excellent service to create the ideal LED lighting solution for horticulture. The RV1000 offers a level of performance that can only be described as unmatched – and with initial efficiencies of 3.1-3.6 umol/y, the RV1000 looks set to take the market by storm.

Its customizable capabilities, application flexibility and tailored spectral technology allow growers to respond to market changes, tackle challenging growing environments and optimize plant growth for different crop types and indoor growing conditions.

In turn, crop yields are significantly increased and the quality of produce is significantly improved. In other words, every seed sown under NLight grow lights is able to reach full bloom – and with customer focus as a core value, they show the plants they help grow and the growers they work with a parallel amount of nurturing and care.

Reducing costs for growers is another key focus of NLight, with 2-3m mounting heights and 8-12m bay widths providing the perfect example of how the RV1000 leaves its competitors far behind.

“With their 145 degree output angle, a 1000W fixture can be placed where competitors would need 2x 500W fixtures for comparable uniformity, resulting in lower project and installation costs.”

And if that wasn’t enough, it does all this with remarkably low energy consumption, minimal ecological impact and a clear commitment to environmental stewardship and efficient design.

To date, NLight has installed projects in the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark, Kuwait and Vietnam for growers such as Inca Orchids, Vitacress Herbs Limited and Greenlife Kuwait, with many more projects planned for the coming months.

There is no denying that NLight and their commitment to excellence are poised to become a dominant force in the horticultural lighting industry.

Still, it will be a huge challenge to avoid the shadows of the tycoons that already walk the room. Taking on this challenge is where NLight’s fresh perspectives, bold marketing plans and drive for continuous improvement and development will truly come into their own.

“Encouraging continuous learning and growth, while continually exploring new opportunities, is an integral part of how we will contribute to a more sustainable and resilient global food system.”

– Robbert Jan in ‘t Veld, European Sales Director
